There is a commercial firm legally using the name Springfield Armory
that builds M1A's which are M-14's without the stud for mounting the
selector switch and, last I checked, M1 Garands. These are new,
excellent rifles to military specs. You can get various grades from
service to match. M1A's are in 7.62 (.308 Winchester) and the M1's
could be in either that or 30-06.
