[MV] So what's an MV anyway

What exactly qualifies as a "Military Vehicle". This question came up in
casual discussion with another MV enthusiasts. Seems like an easy enough
question...or is it. Is there a difference between a Military Vehicle and
a vehicle used by the military? The military uses many vehicles that are
straight off the civilian production line. Example: A government surplus
plain white Dodge van with "US AIR FORCE" painted on the doors, is it a
military vehicle or just a white van? Should we be saving them? Or how
about a D7 Cat or a Tucker snow tractor, a number of which were put to
military service with no special military modifications other than a
stencil job. Military vehicles? Or does a Military Vehicle have to have
some sort of military unique modification like blackout lights or 24v
system. I'm wondering if we will be seeing green Dodge Aries sedans with
US ARMY painted on the doors at future MV meets. And by god don't use
those Aries sedans as hard targets on the range, they're collectable MVs!
