A GMC AFKX-352 is a 2nd series shop van

1st series: Cab Over Engine (COE) that looks like a little school bus with
rounded rear corners

2nd series: Same as above with square rear corners (that is what we are talking
about. Only about 2000 made)

3rd series: Box mounted on CCKW (2.5 tonner 10 wheeler) deuce & a half Like
what they have today.

In GMC Nomenclature:

1st letter

A 1939 (as in AFKX)
B 1940 (you won't find any)
C 1941 (as in CCKW
D 1942 (as in DUKW)

2nd letter

C Conventional cab
D Amphibian (as in DUKW)
F Cab Forward (COE)

3rd letter

K All wheel drive (live front axle)

4th & 5th letter

W Dual rear end as in CCKW or DUKW
X Wheelbase that was not a GMC standard (early ones)

352 etc is a GMC nomenclature that specifies the general size and
the wheelbase.

Hope this helps

Dr Deuce
