Don't overlook possible shock loadings and a safety factor, steel cables
if suddenly broken when a good length is run out can do serious whiplash
damage, even leg amputations. . . . . . .
UK mil rate the 13mm (nominal 1/2 inch) FV622/623 winch cable at 10 tons
SWL and set the vehicle hydraulic winch relief valve to give 6.5 tons
max pull, for example.
