I know here in BC a track vehicle can't be driven on the road unless you
want to pay for the pavement damage and even than I doubt it.
Can you get a rubber track?or make a rubber track?
A pick up is a pick up is a pick up.Austin Mini has a pickup, big enough to
put a suit case into.Dodge has a 6x6 and that is also considered a pickup.
If there is no catagory that describes exactly what you have then the next
nearest catagory is usually considered acceptable.
A Land Rover with a passenger capacity of 10 in a 109 doesn't fit into the
Taxi catagory or a bus because it is less than 12 people. This is for my
touring company. Therefore it gets insured as a bus because of motor carrier
regulations. That is the next closest catagory.
When I was with the gyro club, gyro's aren't in any catagory here and
Transport Canada wanted us to have a pilots liscence to fly a gyro.Nuts!Once
we explained this concept being like having a motor bike liscence to drive a
Tracter trailer they were willing to work with us to change regulations to
meet the situation.
Most insurance companies are far more willing to take money for what ever
reason but sure make it difficult to collect when the time comes.
All grey area vehicles can be nailed at on time or another over some
technicallity or what ever.
It all comes down to how well you can play the game and use the rules in
your favour.
