The below link is to the California National Guard Counter Drug
activites website. It gives some examples of the types of operations
performed with local police agencies. Note use of LAV to transport peace
officers to a meth lab raid.

I am still trying to find the link but I belive that the Border Patrol
is currently evaluating LAV's for use on the US-Mexican border.

For further sobering information check out the National Law Enforcement
and Corrections Tech Center. http://www.nlectc.org. It has backgound
info on new technology like cellular phone tracing, and other topics.
