[MV] MV suggestions

Ever notice how toothpaste is indorsed by the American Dental Association,
and some shoe styles by the American Podiatry Assoc. Why not seek
indorsements for the MVPA by the VFW. American Leagion,Jewish War Veterans
etc. It is far more likely that the politicians will listen to a group
with this kind of backing then to a very small group of collectors such as
we are. We simply do not represent a large enough constituency to force the
folks in power to take up our cause. Keep in mind, there are probably
hundreds of thousands if not millions of liberals who served this country
from WW2 on who have pride in there former service and would like to see
these vehicles preserved. It is highly unlikely that our request that the
BATF be disbanded will be taken seriously, but a coordinated effort by
this countries vets may be a different story. Any
thoughts?................Alan

Guys--
This is exactly what we should be doing. Basic rules of military
engagement imply :
1) Strength in numbers (the larger the force, the greater the probability
of success), and
2) Strength in unity ("United we stand, divided we fall!).

A coordinated lobbing effort by the MVPA to reach out to these related
organizations would, I believe, go farthest in presenting our case. By
receiving endorsements from other mainstream patriotic organizations, the
MVPA could be the beneficiary of an air of legitimacy from the general
public. Without legitimacy, all is lost. If the country perceives us as a
fringe lunatic group, we will go the way of the dinosaur. The more we
insult our representatives (and God knows some of them deserve it!) the
less credible we become as a rational organization. On the other hand, if
we can refrain from emotionalism and name-calling and simply address the
basic issues through the clarions of legitimate allies, we can move ahead
and win the battle.
Just my thoughts on the matter. Van
