Guy's, let me set the record straight. The jeeps, after the MB and GPW all
used a 3/4 inch bore cylinder on the rear and a 1inch bore cylinder on the
fronts. >>
Well, I hate to be a bore on this topic, but what has been stated above is not
correct, and if this recommendation is applied to the M151 and M151A1 series
trucks, it is highly inadvisible. All the pre-M151A2-series MUTTS should have
3/4" wheel cylinders ALL ROUND.
The US Military expounded this message at every opportunity..... in training
films, DA Pamphlets, DA Circulars, PS Magazines, Tech Manuals, Safety-of-Use
Messages, and even with white/blue labels affixed to new, boxed, wheel
cylinders. If the pre-M151A2-series had been able to safely use 1" wheel
cylinders on the front axle, then the whole fleet would eventually have been
upgraded.......it never was!
A lot of Mutt enthusiasts think that these warnings apply only to "mixing"
wheel cylinders on the same axle..........they don't. As far as different
models of the Mutt goes..... "size matters".
Kind regards......
Ken
