In the brake booster there is a piston that the fluid pressure from the
primary master cyl. pushes on. This piston then opens an air port
allowing air to go to the booster air cyl which applies the secondary
master cyl. The air also pushes back on this small piston, balancing the
push that moved it in the first place. (in effect a pressure regulator,
but not adjustable) To reduce pedal effort by half you need to reduce
the area of this small piston by half. I put a brass bushing in the
housing and turned down the outer diameter of this piston keeping it
looking the same only smaller.(it has a groove for a seal to keep the
brake fluid from getting past and a felt washer for lubrication) The
brakes are much nicer to use and acually 'feel' like power brakes.
