In 1980 I bought a batch of some very cheap jerricans that reportedly
originated in Holland. Most are WWII date stamped but of the German or
current design. I wanted them because of the date, and that they weren't tin
plate thin. These cans you can seam weld.
The question is, on some of these cans were what I'd call disposable tags.
Some were called CIVGAS F-50 (red coloured tag), the others were COMBATGAS
F-46 (red coloured tag). There was one with O/D something (in yellow), and I
guess that meant Oil, Diesel.
What do these tags mean ? Tank use only, vehicle use only etc ?
Rgds,
John
