Hi Doug,

My general approach is roughly as follows:
1) Install all nuts snugly, but not tightened (say, about 10-15 ft. lbs).
2) Then cross-tighten them all to about two-thirds of the proper torque.
3) Then cross-tighten them all again to full torque.

For some folks, this might be overkill, but for what it's worth, in almost 35
years of driving and dozens of vehicles, I've never warped a hub or drum or
had a wheel come loose that I personally installed with this method. I've also
been able to remove them easily when necessary.
