Here in Missouri I have mine registered as a "historical" vehicle.
Benefits are no safety inspection, lifetime plates, and only the initial
registration-$23 fee. Down side is you acn only drive it 2K miles a year
and only to certain types of functions. However the rules are so vague
that if I'm driving it andsomeone says "cool jeep". I tell them , "yeah,
its a '53 M38A1. Ex military". Then I've felt I've complied with the
educationing the public aspect of the rules Maybe htats not whats meant,
but I have the same setup with the "duece". I have had no problems.
Insurance through the JC Taylor co. too. I hpope to have all my MV's
done this way. Steve
1953 M38A1 1/4 ton Jeep
1962 M37B1 3/4 ton Truck
1968 M274A5 1/2 ton Utility vehicle "mule"
1968 M109A3 2 1/2 ton Shop Van
1977 M886 5/4 ton Field ambulance
