Probably very dependant on the type of plastic. Most certainly petrol
(gasoline) would be a more agressive solvent than diesel. Recently I tried
one of those cheap see-through pump/syphon things, with the bellows type
gadget moulded into it, with diesel, it lasted about 20 seconds.
