If you are storing your unmounted tires, usually the inside gets trashed
with spiders, dirt, sand, rocks etc. and if outside, probably rain water
which breeds mosquitoes and algae goop which is not fun to remove.
Insert an old inner tube and partially inflate it, forming a water tight
seal inside and keeping the tire lightly formed so it wont get a "flat
spot". It also helps you keep up with your inner tubes.
