Oh yes, the same problem has the German Volkswagen Schwimmwagen.
When the big rubber seal at the gearbox ripps off, you have=20
suddenly a very big leak and your Schwimmwagen becomes an U-Boat
very fast.
The big rubber seal is a thing, which most stupid owners don't=20
see and so it is often in a bad state (as all 60 year old rubber
parts). Repro parts are available, but some are in poor quality.
It would be not the first Schwimmwagen, which becomes an U-boat,
because of a poor repro seal is failing...
Always the same problem: Most owners spend lots of money for paint
chrome (if it isn't a MV) and gimmicks, but only very few money
for parts which you don't see, even if they are essential.=20
