If you have parked the truck for a longer time, the air pressure is
down. If you start such a truck with real air brakes and drive on
immediately, before there is enough pressure on the air brake, the
truck is unbraked!
So all over the world a warning device for low air pressure must be
there by law. In Europe it is most times a big red light on the dash-
board. Some older army trucks had a metal stick, which swung from
the dashboard up in front of the drivers eyes.
Never drive without a working warning device! It is illegal and it
is dangerous!
