May 2nd, 1999: On page one of the newspaper was the picture of a Ferret Mark
2/3. The headlines read, "With this tank I do thee wed." It was an
endearing story about a young man in the 82nd Airborne who came home on a two
day pass to marry his high school sweetheart before being shipped out to
Albania.

The wedding limousine was substituted for the Ferret, which was appropriately
also an airborne vehicle. It was temporarily wearing large stenciled white
letters "82 AB" on it's turret and rear engine panel to reflect it's new unit
assignment.

The gorgeous young bridge and handsome groom (the later wearing his USA dress
blues) squeezed into the turret for a 3 mile ride from the church to the
reception.

The dgenuilyecked out Ferret, replete with Old Glory and 82'nd AB flags was
greeted with passionate cheers and hoorahs from hundreds of well wishers as
it lead the wedding convoy to the reception where it was met by about 300
attendees.

Such public displays of passion and patriotism is as uncommon as good news on
page one. Oh one last note... the MVPA decal was also proudly displayed on
the scout car. That one was for you guys! Keep em rollin.... Jack Lee

PS I have a picture, e-mail if want to see it.
