The event you are referring to might be the Bussum Bridgehead. This is an
anual WW2 reenactment event held in May. It is organized by Stichting
Militair Depot from friday the 7th to sunday the 9th of May. The event takes
place at Camp Crailoo near Bussum (not far from Amsterdam). The camp is in
true WW2 style!
On Saturday there will be a "liberation" tour with old military vehicles
through the region. Saturdaynight there will be a party in 1940's style at
the "Trafalgar Club".
Sunday the camp will be open to the public, 12000 visitors last year!! This
day the units will display themselves and mock battles will take place.
There also will be a militaria fair.
A lot of military vehicles including crew/troops,equipment and weapons from
different countries were present last years. Among these vehicles: jeeps,
Dodges, halftracks,M-8, Kubelwagen, BMW motorcycle with sidecar and so
on........
I heard the rumour that this' years Bussum Bridgehead will be canceled due
to the war in Kosovo. Maybe some of the other list members can clarify this.
Me, I hope the event will take place, I really can recommend it to anyone!
