The machines many of us diligently seek after and enjoy represent some of the
finest examples of machinery engineering evolution. Not to mention being easier
to maintain than anything which hides the engine under a cloak of electronics.
Sooner or later the generational interest will cycle again. Look at the
resurgence of single action Cowboy Action Shooting events. On a side note
concerning mv progress, I had a teacher in high school who was a Marine in
Korea. He thought it was funny that a marine gunner who practiced could easily
take aerial targets with a quad mount anti-aircraft gun; but the military could
not get the close to the same reliability from a radar controlled mount.
Sometimes progress isn't all that great.
Brian J. Leffler
Never forget that what we have today is the result of the struggles of former
years.
