Hi list,

I think Bill's good advice harkens back to the earlier thread about
"Historic Military Vehicles". If we present our desire for an
exemption to these policies based on that the vehicles in question
would be classified as "Antique" by every state in the Union, I think
we might get a more sympathetic ear.

It will be hard to fight the hurdle that we are such small fry that no
one will trouble themselfs to work on our behalf.

I think that if we can get someone to propose a bill for exemption of
vehicles made before 1946, we might hope to see it attached to some
other bill likely to pass.

Now, if that goes through, maybe we can use that as leverage for the
newer vehicles like Ferrets or OT-18s and the like.

Here's hoping!

Jim

It would seem prudent, in this case, to quietly join our collective voting
rights with others who would like to see some changes made to these
regulations, and "court" our legislators, as opposed to ramming something
down their throats demanding that something be done. Sort of a "honey vs.
vinager" approach. If that doesn't work, then I advocate a full scale push
(lobbying, letter writing campaign, etc.) to make something happen.
