Normandy D-Day Celebration

Schedule of Events

The U.S. National D-Day Memorial Ceremony is scheduled for 1430 at the
Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France

The following are French sponsored events with American Veteran
participation:

5 June

1530 Bayeux, Monument of Liberation, Assembly of the official "cortege" (a
caravan of officially invited guests in vehicles), torch-lighting ceremony,
wreath laying.

1630 Colleville-sur-Mer (at Omaha Beach), the Normandy American Cemetery,
Religious ceremony wreath laying.

1715 Saint Laurent-sur-Mer, Signal Monument , Wreath-laying.

1730 Vierville-sur-Mer, National Guard Monument, Wreath-laying, Inauguration
of Jean, Sainteny Street.

1815 Pointe du Hoc, wreath-laying.

1915 Sainte Mère Église, Liberty highway marker "0", Wreath-laying, 82nd &
101st Airborne Monuments, Wreath-laying.

1930 Banquet in Sainte Mère Église.

2200 Saint Martin-de-Varreville (at Utah Beach), Leclerc Monument,
Wreath-laying, Sainte Marie-du-Mont/La Madeleine, 4th Division Monument,
Wreath-laying, Utah Beach, American Federal Monument, Raising of colors,
Official speeches Wreath-laying,

6 June

Ceremonies from 1025 to 1630 from Bayeux, Lion-Sur-Mer,
Colleville-Montgomery, Hermanville sur-Mer, and Grey-sur-Mer.

The Ceremony in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, 4 June, 1800. This village is 7 kms
from SME and 12 kms from Grandcamp-Maisy.

Monday 7th
[A] Bayeaux Parade am, British/Canadian manufactured only.
Limited entry.
[B] Carrentan 11.30 to 16.00. Any World War II vehicle.
[C] Carpiquet Wreath Laying Ceremony. Vehicles required,.
