3/8-24UNF, i.e. your basic 3/8 fine thread nut. The correct original nut is
a type called a "flex-lock" nut. I have these which I used everywhere they
are supposed to be used on the Mule (which is almost everywhere) but I chose
not to use them on the wheel studs. They can, with multiple on and off
cycles, start to wear the thread on the stud. I use "2H" nuts for the wheel
studs. These are a heavy pattern (larger across the hex) nut which helps
spead the load out more and they are of better quality than normal nuts.
Any fastener supplier should be able to get either for you. Remember that
there is supposed to be an Aluminum flat washer under the nut also. I would
be 99.9% certain that they are not at all the same as a mutt.

Just a side note. Please do realise (if you do already then nevermind) that
when you go to take the large nut off that holds the hub on..... there is a
tension pin locking it on. You MUST removed the little 1/8" pipe plugs from
the lifting eye and rotate it till you see the pin then drive it out first.
I make these new for one of the Mule parts suppliers in large quantity
because people don't realise this and end up putting an impact wrench on it
and strip the threads out of the nut (nut soft - pin hard).
