I went the shop that builds tents got some scraps (not free) of OD canvas
and they sold me some glue for that puprose. It work and looks like govt.
repair. I do not know what the glue was but was something special to
penetrate the waterproofing. smelled like a sovent base. sorry I could not
be any real help
