Re: [MV] MVPA and Election of Officers

I second this comment. In this day and age, any organization or individual
is subject to litigation if it/he/she makes any public comments regarding
someone, even if the comments are true! Frankly, if I were counsel to the
MVPA (and I AM retired as general counsel to a subsidiary of a rather
large, publicly-traded company), given Gilmore's diatribes against the
MVPA, I would advise them to not make any public comments and deal only
with Gilmore through limited channels, preferably counsel.

I don't know Jim Gilmore from a hot rock and, other than bits and pieces
I've gleaned from this list and other sources, don't have enough
information about his qualifications and history to make any judgement
about him. I personally question a number of statements made by Gilmore on
this list and am trying to find out the facts independently rather than
take his word for it and go charging off to find a rope.

The MVPA is the only organization of which I am aware with the pull to
represent us as MV collectors. As members we can work to make it better or
we can sit on this list and bitch to each other about what we don't
understand.
