To recap...
NO MAINTAINANCE RECORDS EXSIST ON THIS TRUCK.
Powerplant is LDT-465-1C
Motor turns over freely.
Electric in tank fuel pump provides ample, steady stream of fuel to injector
pump.
Plunger in injector pump moves up and down as motor turns over. And fuel
squirts out plunger port with cap removed.
Fuel shut off rod moves reasonably freely.
NO FUEL, AT ALL, to injector lines.
Engine does run on ether (no I have done this much, but we do know now that
the engine WILL run)
It appears to me that something is keeping the fuel in the injector head.
Could the plunger sleeve be stuck? If so how would I check for this/correct
the problem?
There is a check valve (the correct name escapes me at the moment) behind a
special plug to the right of the injector pump data plate. Could this be
stuck? How is it freed/removed?
Thanks for your thoughts so far, I hope to hear more.
Thanks,
David Doyle
