The "A3s" have a Cat engine. They also have the CTIS system for tire
inflation. We lost one coming home from AT last year when he was cut off,
slammed on the brakes and took it into the median. The truck flipped over
and the kid driving would have been killed except that the shelter on the
back kept the cab from caving in.
They are now rated at ( as I recall ) a 40 MPH truck, top speed, which is
better than the FMTV which is rated at 35 mph.The A3 is an ok truck but like
most of the new stuff, is getting too complicated, you can't fix them with
wire and a pair of pliers anymore.
Oh Well.
