Your voice, along with those of the hundred-odd (?) other non-members
who may be reading this, could well prove a significant force in the
long run. You WILL be ignored by the MVPA until you join.
The problem with any such organization is that 90% of its members hold a
very passive stance, willing to go along with just about anything so
long as they have the card and the decal; the up-side of that, however,
is that they are ALSO willing to listen to, and potentially follow, the
other 10% who raise their voices on any given issue. They paid their
money because they're interested in vehicles. We have to convince them
that there is a better way of doing things.
I personally think we have to work with what we have, rather than to
seek alternatives, at least immediately.
Note that the MVPA brass have remained silent through this controversy.
They're hoping it just fades away. It will, unless people like you send
in your cheques with a strongly-worded letter to the effect that you
intend to take an ACTIVE role in MVPA affairs, because you care. THAT
might wake them up.
Joe Average who finds the site on the net and remembers the M37 his dad
had will still keep sending in his bucks and not say a word. It's up to
YOU, and ME, and people like us. Like anything political, you can only
effect change from the INSIDE.
My humble 2 bits, from a fur'ner to boot!.
