I am interested in losses of shipments during WWII...
Yes, it is Vehicle related...
I know a list is available of the losses concerning allied merchant / cargo
ships
during WWII...but does documentation on the cargo carried still exist ? Where ?
Since years I try to find out how many Jeeps, in crates ?, where lost on
shipments
before they reached the war theatres.
Would it not be good to know how many Jeeps made it to the front line after
all ?
Also, has anyone a clue as to how many ended up with the US Forces and how
many were given to the Allies...USSR, Britain, Brasil, Free French
etc...and under
what kind of contract / agreement ? Lend Lease ? MAP ? Purchase ? Field
assignment ? out of US Army or British Stock, e.g. to Polish / Brasilian /
French units
in Normandy, Arnhem and in Italy etc...
