I hope you don't go back where you came from, sir, and I also understand the
concern of MV collectors with aligning this hobby with other endeavours and
other lobbying groups. I do believe it would be possible to focus on
personal freedoms that are continuously in jeopardy without endorsing
wholeheartedly the concerns of the other members of the coalition. Common
Ground would be the key, without doing the silly Republican "big tent" dance.
I disagree with you on the total disconnection between arms and military
vehicles, especially military arms. Do consider that military arms are the
primary target of our Government, and if you are a citizen, you have rights
here that most peoples of the world do not have. The form 6 issue does not
revolve around arms, but military hardware. In short, our Government has
already lumped them together and sees them as parts of a whole. Shouldn't we
also do the same, at least a little bit? The hobby of military vehicle
collecting and driving is not in danger yet, but there are clumps of our
island washing off as we speak. We really do need bridges and causeways to
the nearest islands that are also in danger, before the danger becomes truly
mortal and unstoppable. If it never does, then we are dialoguing with more
people than our own parochial group. Either way, it would be a uniting bond
of understanding over shared interests and concerns.
