The LDS 427 reportedly is prone to thrown rods, and parts a problem.
The LDT 465-1C engines have improved piston cooling oil nozzles and head
gaskets, and the 1D improves these further.
I have done the above from memory only, so you might check other sources as
well.
By the way, I think the likelyhood of finding a 1967 engined multifuel truck
is remote. Uncle Sam is fond of rebuilding and reengining this stuff. Of my
various trucks, only my 74 has its original engine in it, and it had less
than 1000 miles on it whenI bought it.
Year and model of engine on plate on left front of engine. Rebuild tags
sometimes on top of bellhousing.
