I think this posting is very thoughtful and very articulate.

Breaking News, and another outrage: yet another mass shooting
just happened:
A 40 year-old white man in green fatigues just shot five people
in a Jewish
community center (Museum of Tolerance, of all places...) in
Granada Hills, CA... Flak jackets and militia-type equipment,
UZI and ammo were found
in a red van at the site according to the news... 5 people
fighting for their lives,
including three children!!!
I would respectfully ask my fellow listees to note
under their signature if they are MVPA members or not. It would
help identify the people with whom I (or others) would be
interested in carrying off-list this discussion with..

asking all of us to quit beating our breasts and continuing this type of
discussion, he deliberatly shows his own brand of outrageousness, and writes
this preceeding piece of emotional "news" on a thread page he has only hours
before said was no place for this type of material..............
He does say here, tho, that he would still welcome off line
discussion.........but only with members of the MVPA, I
think............(which almost hurts my feelings.......since I wasnt aware
that I had to be a member of anything to be entitled to opinions. I guess I
would be smarter if I had enough sense to join things immediately, instead of
first investigating, talking, and then waiting til I was sure I wanted to

I would not dream of even attempting to have the last word on
such a gargantuan subject..How presomptuous it would be! It just
happened that my posting cme online at the same time as some
emphatic protests from listees and urges to go off-list.
I just took the hint and declined to go any further on-list on
these topics.
However, you and everyone else on the list should know that I
welcome any intelligent discourse off-list.. Indeed, my mailbox
have been quite filled up lately...hardly the last word indeed!
