There was a thread on this way back in December 97 (!) and I have
to re-state (for the jeep s/n record) that as far as I've found,
my (hybrid) jeep, with its Ford chassis, engine, running gear
and combat rims, has a s/n WITHOUT stars or letters.
I may not have uncovered the whole number, but since it'd be hard to miss 2
stars
as well as 3 letters, I really don't think there's anything left to find!
If anyone can convince me that I must keep looking, I'll do so, but the opinion
last time around was that a variation in the presence of, or total absence of,
letters and stars was no big surprise. (Thanks for the peace of mind, Todd!)
(Jim Gilmore - I mailed you off list recently about my jeep. Did you
receive it?)
