Tom,
I noticed in a book about aircraft restoration at the Smithsonian, they
had photographs of the FW-190 (I think) that they restored. Some of the
pieces of wood in the tailplane had to be replaced due to rot, so they
laminated new wood with the old. All the new pieces appeared to have the
word "REPRODUCTION" stamped on them, whilst the original pieces were unmarked.
So, if this is ok for them, then it should be fine for you. I think putting
your initials on it is not the solution - if you're going to mark it, you
might as well make it explicit rather than have the possibility that someone
in a few years' time wonder why the initials "T.C." were "stamped on at the
factory".
Steve.
