Part II of coming home: I now have new (to me) info on my jeep.
Anybody have any info you can share?

Body tub and frame S/Ns match (with appropriate *): GPW 279xx, DoD
5/29/42.

Engine block casting numbers:
right (passenger) side: G4J0-1-L-W12 A-N1-CR-N2
left (driver): (front) 5 (rear) 10-17C
Both right side numbers are on raised "pads."
The S/N was ground off during the repair process, and I didn't know
enought to tell the machine shop to restamp it in the pad where it
belongs. That sucks!
I put an F marked head on the block...now that I think of it, I have
never seen an F mark on the block, so I think I know where that's
going...

MBT's S/N is 198xx (from the front mounted, original data plate). It
came with 2 combat rims; NDT, correct tires and a Beachwood Canvas top.
The floor has some significant dents, and some rust, but the back was
never cut. It's well-restored with correct lunette/landing leg and
functional lights.

-Which Ford plant produced the GPW?
-Is the block potentially original, a Willy's war-time production or a
post-war production?
-When did Willy's produce the MBT, and what's a reasonable price to
have paid for it?

Thanks for the info.
