Hi Doug Greville and David Land and Listers:

US vehicles have meal heaters called an exhaust system. Very high tech.
you try to find some part that won't incinerate the meal. Timing system uses
an odor/aural and visual alerts as in " What the hell is that smell?"
Usuall reply is " Oh, Sh..!! " followed by steady red lights on back of
vehicle and swerve to right.
HEMATTS are prized convoy participants for muffler/exhaust ID (1 to 3
minutes at idle , then goose it and catch as it blows out) as are tanks air
cooling ducts and decks. Certain vehicles are known for high temps on floor
areas over engine/ transmission areas as well as firewalls and are also
equally prized.(As long as you don't have to drive said pigs in summer) In
field track down where the Generator sets will be set up.You save the
catalytic heaters to put in your clothing and sleeping bag in winter games
of "Capture the Flag" where you are not a REMF. Very amusing at night on IR
gear.
US is Now fielding a plug in 24VDC heater pouch with resistance wires in
rubber sheeting all in a OD green nylon pouch which holds about six entrees
at once. ( Mine is in storage at moment but I will be up there today and
will get NSN and Nomenclature off of label and Post Later today)
Plug is standard rubber mil plug as found on all US MVs .
As stated before , I got mine at Abeerdeen , from Star Electric but
other vendors had them too.
Bon Apitite'
Ron
