Did you ever get any feedback on this? I've noticed that when I let up on
the gas and the slack in the drive train catches up to the rear diff, it
gets real noisy. I greased the bearings via the zerks and changed the diff
fluid. There wasn't any metal in the oil and it seems to have quieted down
a bit. As a result, I am also wondering if having a box of gravel in a
cement mixer during deceleration, is just a normal sound for these rear
diffs.
I am intending on tearing mine down to replace the seals and will get to
look around inside while I'm at it. If I find anything, I'll let you know.
Can anybody on Mil Veh add to this?
