When I restored my 1945 Buffalo Springfield 250 gallon Aluminum Water
Buffalo, I just used the regular 5F5 paint stripper in the blue can that I
use on most HMV's. There appeared to be no ill effects after 6+ years and I
believe that the can specifies that alu is OK
They also have a 'special' metal prep for aluminum at the auto parts stores.
It IS different from the normal metal prep that you buy for steel.
