I would partially agree with reducing the reply to all, but there are some =
threads that I appreciate getting more info about and the replys help. =
For instance, if someone is talking about repairing the canvas on a 43 =
GPW, although I don't presently own one, at least for the moment/wish I =
did. But, all that aside, I do own an M38A1 that may have the same =
problem and like to read through the responses that I otherwise would not =
be able to see, unless I make my own post for the same info. So eventhough=
, the "reply to all" traffic may appear to be excessive, there is some =
merit to it. The traffic I do think we need to keep in check is the =
off-topic stuff, that I am guilty of as well. If we spare everyone that, =
I think it will be a step in the right direction. I also think it is time =
for the MVPA to step of to the plate and take some responsibility for the =
list as well, in terms of a pledge/donation of the equipment necessary to =
maintain it. I have been on this list since 1996 and it has proved to be =
a superior tool in restoration and maintenance and provides a pool of =
knowledge that I would venture to say, doesn't exist anywhere else in the =
world. If you think about it, everyday you see posts from people, located =
in Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Thailand, etc.., not to mention from =
all across the states. I think the only continent we don't have covered, =
is Antartica. Everyone with their own experiences with these green =
machines, their own unique perspectives, but the common goal to get just =
one more rollin', which is what the MVPA in-turn strives to achieve. If =
this list was not around, it would certainly make the prospects of finding =
advice/let alone leads on parts for a 51 M-135 or even a 53 M38A1 much =
more difficult. Ever ask the AutoZone guy about what kind of oil filter =
goes in a 51 M-135. Try it sometime, you'll like the reaction. At any =
rate, just my two cents and my hat off to Arthur for a tremendous job in =
keeping this beast alive for all of us to enjoy.
