I can only add my whole-hearted support for this valuable resource, it is not
only of direct value but some pointers to associated services and suppliers are
of great value.
Personally mil-veh has become the second engineering and historical hobby after
actually getting grubby on the real thing, it has led to some fascinating
private exchanges and several new and valued personal friendships.
Observations so far on posted suggestions:
1. Small subscription fee - why not, this would further limit the subscribers
to those really interested.
2. Extra fee for traders - in all fairness this would encourage, quite
reasonably, large postings of all manner of widget lists, currently
self-restraint, responsibility and a sense of fairness seems to work well.
3. Use a dial-up account - Please don't forget Europe and elsewhere pay by the
second for phone calls even local ones and in the UK we have to pay some 4.2p on
each local call connection even if the few initial minutes it buys are not used.
4. Use onelist services - As a subscriber to several of the onelist MV-like
lists, this facility seems to operate just as this one with CURRENTLY a minimum
of auto-added advertising but who knows what might happen in the future.
5. There is just no such thing as a free lunch.
