I don't think that is an option, if only because ONElist doesn't work
that way. ONElist's ads are fairly unobtrusive, and easy to ignore,
like the reminder of how to unsubscribe from the MV list, which
appears at the bottom of each MV message (two of which I had to "CUT"
from this message).

After all this discussion of the various options, we have yet to hear
from Arthur. I hope he is considering some of our suggestions, and
will make a decision, soon, be that maintaining the status quo,
transferring the list to one of the commercial operations, i.e.,
ONElist, accepting the gracious offers of updated hardware & software
advanced by various list-members, or shutting it down. I doubt,
considering the general consensus of opinion expressed on-list, that
he would consider shutting it down. If he DOES want out, I, for one,
would be willing to take over, as long as the members approved of
transferring the list to ONElist (I'm familiar with their operation).
I'm sure others would also step up to offer their services, if need
be.

In any case, I do not intend on sending money to anybody for the
privilege of being a list-member. There are too many inexpensive
(free) options available. This list is a great ('though busy) source
of information. Once you start charging admission, it will suffer
(you'll lose me!).

I'm sure Arthur is giving these options all due consideration, and
will let us know his decision in a reasonable amount of time. No
hurry, as long as the list continues to work seamlessly, as it always
has.

My 2¢ worth.
