Why don't you just try to use a little teflon tape on the threads of the
fuel line, simple and cheap ($1 or $2). Always remember to put the tape
reverse of the directions of the threads on the fuel line or it will just
bunch up when you thread the line into the body of the carb. The carter
carbs that I have in my CJ's do leak and weap a little when they are
running, not uncommon for old carbs because I understand the sometimes warp.

>drove my m38 last night to dust of the cobwebs and when I was finished I
looked under the hood and saw a small amount of fuel seeping from the carb.
It seeps out very slowly where the fuel line goes into the carb, but I do
not see any threads or anything that would tighten.

not want to buy a bunch of new parts, I was wondering if some silicone
gasket maker around the fuel line where it meets the carb will make it safe
for intested parties to test drive without an engine fire, or is there
another simple fix? (my friend who was there at the time said "plumbers
putty"???!!!!????)

bursting into flames but if I smell gas fumes when I open the hood, I get
nervous.

drops per minute when it leaks. Evaporates almost as fast as it seeps.
