You will have a great deal of fun with this repair- bolts will twist off
without a doubt. You see I can say this and if it does not happen we will
all be happy - If I tell you that mine did not twist off, and yours does we
will both be unhappy. 1st thing be sure engine is cool and has been cool a
while - I know of manifolds that have been taken from warm engines and then
would not fit back. I would suggest that you replace manifold bolts when
you start back, and if you want to do as good a job as you can take manifold
to machine shop and have it trued. sometimes they will warp and need to be
resurfaced. I do not know of any absolute sure way to get bolts off -
sorry, but I just put penetrating oil on them several times before I start
(over a period of day of two) and then put wrench on and start twisting.
Maybe someone else on list has had and will share better experiences.
It is not unrepairable if they do twist off but is a lot of work.
