This past Saturday, a friend, Brett Williams, and I took a flatbed trailer
down to Jamul, CA, and finally recovered the 1951 M-37 I have been yelling
about. She now sits in my driveway, and is already a hit with most of the
young male teenagers of the neighborhood (Nigh on like a light bulb to a
June bug...)... "Cool Army truck, man..." (Army! I beg yer pardon! Et
may be an Army truck now! But it's a gonna be a GYRENE truck here 'n a
couple o' months!)
Thanks to all who contributed suggestions and comments geared towards the
evaluation-for-purchase, transportation assets, and restoration
documentation. Thank you all. I firmly believe that I could not have
accomplished this without the assistance of my "on-line support team"
which is all the members of this list. Special thanks to Art for setting
this puppy up!
I would really like to call out the efforts of Chris Davis (evaluation) and
Brett Williams (recovery - he's also an industrial electrician who is
making noises like he might be willing to reconstruct the 24 volt "loom"
just as a 'proffessional challenge') for their help in the project.
Now it's time to get to work, and use this list for what it was designed to
do, help get another warhorse BACK ON THE ROAD!
