I have a query concerning the so called "Burma Jeep", the
Ford truck that is...
A couple of years ago, maybe 1990, a Polish collector
had a request in a German vintage car magazine to get
information, history, parts and manuals for this vehicle. It was
pictured with a polish registration...I wrote to him but never
got a reply...
My question is:
How did the vehicle get to Poland. In 1990 the comunists
were just packing up and I doubt it was imported, as he required
all kind of info. He would have known if he intentionally
imported it, would he not ?
I thought it was used inside the US and by the Marines in the
PTO only and by some Air Force units there and was never
used in Europe.
Could it have been a Russian ex Lend Lease vehicle ?
I have no idea...pleased to hear your suggestions.
