A while back I posted a question to the list: Could I put M151
wheels/7.00x16 tires on an old M100 trailer? I wanted to get my more
valuable combat rims and 6.00x 16 tires off and put on some more common
rubber.
The answers were, yes, if you cut the center out larger for the hub center
of the trailer.
Well, I took my wheels to a guy who cut them out with a plasma cutter, and
did a good job. I then took off my combat rims and tires and installed the
M151 rim and tire. It slipped onto the hub and I got the nuts on, but the
tire contacted the trailer body, and the springs. There isnt enough hub
bolt left to allow me to add spacers between the rim and the hub to allow it
to freely turn.
Maybe somebody else succeeded in this, but I didn't. I'd love to know if
anyone has done it, and what it involves, so please let the list know if you
did it and how!
Thanks!
