Please put me out of my misery... an M886 is...what?
I've occasionally had to hand crank my 1944 Bedford QLR (28hp 6cyl).... not
one of the most pleasant of beasts if the handle whips back.... a friend of
mine's got a nice scar from his forehead to his chin.... he was a bit of a
mess at the time... loads of blood... lucky not to break his nose... (In
case your wondering he's 5' 6" Tall... had he been taller it probably
wouldnt have been so bad)
My GPW when cold starts first go with the handle (Assuming I've primed the
fuel and set the choke and hand throttle right).... but when the engine is
hot.... it can be a real pig... normally requiring the use of the battery
method.... or a bump start.
Is there a secret trick to starting a hot GPW via the handle? If so I'd
really appreciate someone sharing it with me... thanks.
I've found practicing with the starting handle to be an entertaining past
time at MV Shows... especially for onlookers... and good learning experience
too.
Regards
Tim
