[MV] Re:m715 12 volt light help

I've put a chevrolet v8 in my 715, and need help converting the lights to
12 volts. The guys at memphis equipment tell me that neither the early
mechanical flasher breakout box-what I have-nor the later solid state
flasher box-which requires some re-wiring-will work at 12 volts. I have
had one 715 owner from the 715 list say his solid state flasher works at
12 volts, but can get no further info. If anyone has successfully 12
volted their truck with the early flasher box, please reply direct and let
me know how you did it, I'm stumped right now! thanks,
