Antoine pointed out earlier, that the spelling of
DEARBORN was wrong on the Spedometer.
I think that at least the OILPRESSURE and the
TEMPERATURE gauges are of HOTCHKISS
origion.
The JEAGER instruments of the HOTCHKISS
M 201 have the same "back" face and scale.
Also, the indicator hand is mounted at the bottom
and not, as original MB/GPW, in the centre.
The FUEL and AMPERE (50 amps ????)
gauges might have been original at some piont.
MY BEST BET IS, THAT THE FACES OF ALL
THE INSTRUMENTS HAVE BEEN FITTED WITH
SELFMADE "FORD" - LOGO FACES !!!!
This job is easily done.
If the guy who sold these Instruments to Laurent
has claimed they were original GPW, I suggest
Laurent should take them back and get his money
back !!!
Should I be wrong, I am happy to listen to anybody
who can explain why Dearborn was spelled wrong
on the Speedometer, and the design of the scale
as well as the outlay is modern JEAGER / HOTCHKISS
and why I heave neither heared nor seen anything
like it in 20 years dealing with GPWs...
