I have been to a number of GSA sales and seen many vehicles sold with lights
and sirens still installed and operational. Both my class 530 military 6x6
pumpers had the beacons and sirens on them.
I have also seen numerous antique fire trucks around the country, and lesser
numbers of antique police cars and ambulances, equipped with operational
lights and siren, all in the hands of collectors.
I am of the opinion it is NOT unlawful for these to be sold/owned, but
probably is unlawful for the emergency warning devices to be operated on
public highway.
