Just a note to let you all know that there MAY be a light at the end of the
tunnel, at least as far as respect at car shows for the MV's. I have been
invited to bring my 1942 GPW to the Birmingham (Alabama) International Car
Show this weekend. The Birmingham News is sponsoring an exhibit of the 10
most significant vehicles of the century. My humble little jeep will be in
this display. I certainly think it IS one of the top ten "significant"
vehicles of the century; and I'm not bragging about my particular jeep (which
is at best a 80% vehicle), but the whole class of vehicles deserves to be in
the same category. I am very pleased to be invited, and to be able to
represent the collectors of our MV's; my only regret is that I don't have a
100% jeep to put on display.
